According to NACCAS (www.naccas.org) the salon industry in Kansas and throughout the nation is a job seeker's dream.  The average annual salary for a salon professional in Kansas is $42,969.  Nationally the average salon professional's salary is $35, 973.

According to usanews.com, Hairstylist/Cosmetologist was listed as on of the Best Careers of 2009 and in a recent British job satisfaction survey, hairstylists ranked No. 1.

According to the Burea of Labor Statistics, overall employment for barbers, cosmetologists and other personal appearance workers is projected to grow slightly faster than the average for all occupations.  Opportunities for entry level workers should be favorable, while job candidates at high end establishments will face keen competition.  Personal appearance workers will grow by 14 percent from 2006 to 2016, which is faster than the average for all occupations.  This growth primarily will be a result of an increasing population and for the fowing demand for personal appearance services, particularly skin care services.
